Dr. Seuss Day was celebrated on March 6th with the reading of “Horton Hears a Who”. “Mayor Mayville” came to read how Horton saved Whoville when her dad was the mayor. The message of Horton is timeless “A persons a person, no matter how small” and kindness matters. Afterwards, student buddies visited different stations set in the gym relating to Dr. Seuss. Students had the chance to Match the Character with the Concentration game, match wits using Tic-Tac-Toe, share a book with your buddy, and pick an activity at the activity table to complete with our buddy. Everyone enjoyed their time in the gym. The morning ended back in the classroom where everyone enjoyed a cat in the hat cookie as teachers read to the class their favorite Sr. Seuss story. A great day was celebrated with reading as a focus!
